5 Potential Big Transfer this Summer
We’re already in mid-July, and the transfer window is wide open, with several clubs having a peek at what’s available. Read about 5 potentially big transfers this summer below!
Rashford from Man Utd to Barcelona
The 27-year old forward has spent his entire senior career at Man Utd, except for his short loan spell at Aston Villa in the 2024/25 season, but it all seems to be coming to an end now. The England player has fallen out of favour with manager Amorim, who seems to have made the decision to move on from Rashford.
Rashford had his debut for Man Utd back in February 2016 against Midtjylland, but now it looks like he’ll stop at 426 matches and 138 goals for the club. His preferred destination is supposedly Barcelona, with the Spanish club looking for affordable solutions on the transfer market.
Rashford is currently not training with the first-team squad, and he is expected to leave this summer. Will Barcelona be his next destination?
Gyökeres from Sporting CF to Arsenal
The Swedish striker has been banging in the goals in Portugal since arriving there in 2023. In his two seasons in Lisbon, he has scored 68 goals in 66 league matches, while also grabbing an impressive 17 assists.
Despite struggling a bit initially in England, the forward was impressive at Coventry, earning himself a move to Sporting CF. His row with the higher-ups at Sporting CF has been well publicized, and the rumours of his move to Arsenal seem to be gaining traction.
Could Gyökeres become the star striker Arsenal have been looking so desperately for over the last few years?
Donnarumma from PSG to Chelsea
Chelsea’s goalkeeper situation has been the subject of plenty of conversations, and rumour has it the Blues are looking to make an upgrade between the sticks. Despite Sanchez’ efforts in the Club WC, including a big match in the final, Donnarumma has been mentioned a potential big signing for the London club.
Nkunku has been mentioned as a player that could potentially be included in a deal, with the French player returning to one of his former clubs. Donnarumma might have conceded 3 goals in the final, but the Italian shot stopper is arguably one of the best goalkeepers around and should be a huge upgrade for Chelsea if they manage to get the transfer done.
Grealish from Man City to West Ham
It’s been a while since Grealish vowed football audiences with his performances for Aston Villa, and considering Man City’s impressive squad, the question remains: Will Grealish ever rediscover his top potential again if he stays at the club?
The answer seems to be no, and all signs are pointing to a Grealish exit, with the only question remaining being which club will he end up at?
There are rumours of a loan switch to another PL club, with West Ham mentioned, although another possible destination could be Italy. Napoli recently snatched up Grealish’s ex-teammate Kevin De Bruyne, although it seems the rumours regarding a move to Italy has died down a bit.
Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt to Newcastle
The next potential transfer we’ll talk about is one that could be a part of a classic football version of musical chairs. Hugo Ekitike has been banging in the goals at Eintracht Frankfurt since his arrival in Germany, and the French U21 player might end up in Newcastle next, especially if Liverpool are serious about their Isak advances.
However, there is also the chance that the French striker could end up at Liverpool if the Isak deal isn’t happening, so there will be plenty of football supporters in the North of England keeping an extra eye on the Eintracht Frankfurt player.
