Any major upsets in Milan or Naples?

For fans of Italian football, this weekend is a special one, with several big matches to look forward to. With both a Derby d’Italia on Saturday evening and a clash between Napoli and Roma on Sunday evening, let’s take a closer look at two of this weekend’s biggest fixtures from the Italian league!

Inter vs Juventus

Giuseppe Meazza, Saturday @ 20:45

League leaders Inter are hoping to grab 3 big points against their rivals from Turin this Saturday evening, with the hosts clear odds favourites at 1.95. The last time these two teams clashed, Juventus won 4-3 in Turin in September, and we certainly wouldn’t mind seeing another 7-goal thriller this weekend.

Inter have lost two of their 12 home matches so far this season in the league, against Udinese in August and a bitter 0-1 loss against city rivals AC Milan in November. Chivu’s team are fairly solid at home however, having won 9 of the aforementioned 12 games in Milan. Juventus have won 50% of their away matches in the league so far in 2025/26, in addition to 2 draws and 4 losses in 12 matches. The visitors are not involved in the title race this season, but they’ll be desperate to grab a top 4 finish and qualify for the CL next season.

The hosts are unbeaten in the league for 12 matches, and demolished Sassuolo 5-0 away in their last league outing, so it’s definitely a team in form taking on Juventus this weekend. They do have a CL knockout phase playoff match to keep in mind for next week, though, which is something Juventus will be hoping affect the Nerazzurri in this match.

Juventus have won the last two league matches between this club, and despite the standings and form, the Derby d’Italia is nothing if not unpredictable, and Spalletti will be hoping to cause an upset in Milan.

Barella and Calhanoglu are back in training, but neither are certain to start the match. Dumfries is another player hoping to make the squad after an ankle injury. For Juventus, Conceicao should be available again, though Vlahovic and Milik are out of this one.

Over 3.5 goals in this one, which ended in a 4-3 win for Juventus earlier this season, is currently at 3.35.

Napoli vs Roma

Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Sunday @ 20:45

Conte’s Napoli haven’t had the best of season, considering they won the league last year. They currently sit in 3rd place, 1 point behind AC Milan, with one game more played than the Milan team. They also got knocked out of the Italian Cup recently, losing on penalties at home against Como.

The Neapolitans have yet to lose at home in the league this season, having won 8 of their 11 league fixtures in Naples so far this season, so Roma have a big job ahead of them if they are to win this Sunday evening. Roma have interestingly enough not drawn away from home in the league this season, having won 7 and lost 5 away matches in the league in 2025/26.

Gasperini’s Roma have certainly proved themselves in certain matches, but they still struggle to find consistency. Their new striker Malen has been a revelation since his arrival from Aston Villa, with the Dutch international having already scored 3 goals in 4 league matches. The Roma supporters will be hoping to see his goal form continue into this weekend, especially considering how much Roma have been struggling against the top 6 sides lately.

Roma are missing Kone, El Shaarawy, Dovbyk and Ferguson, and will be hoping to see Soulé, Malen and Wesley create enough chances to break down the Napoli defense and grab a surprise win in Naples. The home team will have to do without Anguissa and Gilmour, as well as Di Lorenzo and former Roma player Juan Jesus. To add to Conte’s injury worries, De Bruyne and Neres are also still unavailable.

Napoli are still odds favourites here at 2.48 ahead of the weekend.
