France Looking for Win Against Morocco
France and Morocco meet in Boston this evening with a place in the semi-finals at stake. Les Bleus are targeting a third consecutive appearance in the final four, while Morocco are aiming to continue another historic run on the biggest stage after reaching the semi-finals four years ago.

France have steadily gathered momentum throughout the tournament and arrive in the quarter-finals having won all five of their matches so far.
Didier Deschamps’ side topped their group before overcoming Sweden and Paraguay in the knockout rounds, scoring 13 goals along the way while continuing to demonstrate their ability to adapt to different opponents and match situations.
The attacking quartet of Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, Michael Olise and Bradley Barcola has been one of the standout combinations at the tournament, while Desire Doue continues to add energy and creativity whenever called upon.
France were pushed hard by Paraguay in the previous round and needed a Mbappe penalty to settle the contest, but finding a way through difficult matches is often the sign of potential champions.
Morocco arrive with plenty of belief of their own. The Atlas Lions finished second in Group C before eliminating the Netherlands on penalties and then producing an impressive second-half display to beat co-hosts Canada in the round of 16.
Azzedine Ounahi’s brace transformed that match, while substitute Soufiane Rahimi once again made an important contribution from the bench.
Mohamed Ouahbi’s side are now unbeaten in 10 matches and continue to establish themselves among the strongest international teams outside Europe’s traditional elite.
France won the sides’ only previous competitive meeting in the 2022 semi-finals, but Morocco have shown throughout this tournament that they are capable of competing with anybody.
Team News
France captain Mbappe will once again lead the attack after moving onto seven goals for the tournament.
Aurelien Tchouameni remains doubtful with a thigh problem after missing several training sessions this week, meaning Manu Kone could continue in midfield if required. Marcus Thuram is also expected to miss out.
Morocco’s main concern surrounds Ismael Saibari, who was forced off during the victory over Canada with a hamstring injury and he has been ruled out for this one.
Chadi Riad is another player being monitored after being substituted in the previous round, while Rahimi is pushing for a place in the starting lineup after his recent performances.
Odds and Tips
France have looked slightly more convincing throughout the tournament and possess greater experience at this stage of major competitions.
Morocco are organised, disciplined and capable of frustrating elite opposition, but Les Bleus have repeatedly found solutions against difficult opponents and should have enough quality to edge the contest.
